Culturally Imagined Stories

A Sad Day in America

DSC08967My heart is absolutely grieved for those who were senselessly murdered in the Connecticut shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

My prayers and tears are with their surviving loved ones. As a parent I cannot imagine having my children die in such a terrifying and violent manner. It’s a sad generation when sending your elementary-age children to school is a risk, and when being married to an educator inspires fear for their safety.

But “This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope: through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, for His compassions fail not” (Lamentations 3:21-22).

I will be praying for the comfort and healing of all those affected by this tragedy.
